I am beyond excited and deeply honored to announce that two of my plays have been officially selected for performance at the 2025 Tampa Bay Theatre Festival (TBTF)! 🎭✨
Out of a competitive field of submissions from across the region and beyond, both a dramatic and a comedic piece I’ve written were chosen to be part of this year’s lineup:
🔹 Dog-Eared Truths – Dramatic Category
🔹 The Last Key Lime Pie – Comedic Category
Both plays will take the stage at the prestigious Straz Center’s TECO Theater on Sunday, August 31st, as part of a weekend that celebrates original theatre, powerful storytelling, and the vibrant talent within Tampa Bay’s creative community.
About the Plays
Dog-Eared Truths is a dramatic exploration of memory, family, and the things we bury inside well-worn pages. It’s a quiet storm of a play—one that confronts the half-truths we tell ourselves, and the damage they can do when left unchecked. It’s a personal piece, deeply rooted in the emotional corners of people we’ve all known… or perhaps have been ourselves.
The Last Key Lime Pie, on the other hand, is pure Florida absurdity, a one-act comedic romp set in a small kitchen as a hurricane bears down. It’s a battle of wits, regrets, and dessert. The last slice of pie becomes a stand-in for love, survival, and everything that matters when time runs out. It’s funny, heartfelt, and delightfully weird—the kind of comedy I love writing most.
Why This Festival Matters
The Tampa Bay Theatre Festival is one of the region’s most dynamic platforms for new work. Every year, it showcases emerging and established playwrights, actors, and directors, all with a shared commitment to powerful storytelling. Being selected not just once but twice is a huge milestone, and I’m incredibly thankful to the festival team and judges for the opportunity to bring these stories to life.
This year’s lineup is full of incredible talent, and I’m honored to be featured among them. It’s an exciting reminder of how vital and alive our local theatre scene really is.
